A borrowed this pattern a while back, even travelled to Aust with us in my hand bag! I even had a read of it while away.
It is simplicity 2019 and part of the Sew Simple range.
Simple, yes, instructions a bit confusing. So much so I put it together just using another pattern. But now it all together I am pleased with it. I think it runs a bit large, just a little as Adele is rocking a size 5 now and this is a bit roomy. But I am sort of happy about that as it is winter I can put a long sleeve and leggings under it when she heads off to kindy. I made it out of a knit, so it is comfortable, super super comfortable. I would make myself one, if it wouldn't make me look huge!!
Adele is happy with it and that's the most important thing.

Sewing knits
I brought so much knit fabric from fabric.com. A whole lot more than one family really needs, I am very slowly making my way through it. The next couple of posts will be about my projects.
I never knew knits was hard to create with. I think having an over locker helps, but I just tacked them like any other project. Some times I even use knit when it tells me not too!
Today project, I made myself a tee shirt. My long sleeved white top also has a tee shirt version so I thought I would give that a go.
I had a just of a challenge with it. I was trying to do it too fast and I got the neck gathering all wrong so when I put it on it looked terrible. I spent a morning unpicking it and I am so glad I did. Now it look great and I can't wait to wear it. I think today is a good day!!
We have just returned from a family holiday to the Gold Coast. Was great fun, super tiring but just awesome. Might share some photos a little later.

And three
Just finished the third skirt. Lucky as we see the little cousin tomorrow. I love them but man, tonight every thing went wrong. Ruffles stitched together, cut my finger, bobbin all messed up. Not a super fun experience but how cute are these girls going to be. Real blood, sweat and tears shed!!
I hope the mummy lets me share a photo of them all together.

A little bit Retro
Well not really but sort of. I can't even remember where I acquired this pattern from but I think it is from the 80's. This is the second time I have made it and I just love it. I loved it so much the first time round that I wore holes in the top. Not just one hole either, many. I threw it away last winter and knew that another just had to be made. I am thinking another one as well. But first, one...
It is a lovely, super fine knit from Fabric.com. My over locker hated it. Didn't really sew it together all that well, but it is still great. I just need to hem it. I am going to put elastic in the bottom. The pattern has a tie, last time I did the elastic thing too and it works well. So why change it? Plus I put cuffs on the sleeves. I find it gives everything a nice baggy feel, but the drappy knit fabric sits really nice as so not to make you look like you are dressed in a bag.
See, look how old this looks!

A little bit matching
Been busy over the last few days, busy making a couple of skirts. The kids cousin is coming back to NZ for a holiday and I have taken this as a perfect excuse to make not two but three matching skirts. Whew!!! So far I have made Adele and Greta's. tomorrow will be the cousins. I am making Adele and the cousins completely the same, hers will be a bit smaller than Adele's and Greta's is the same but a different background colour. I figure then my girls can dress the same but different when all the Matchy matchy photos have been taken. I keep trying to get Ryan keen but so far not that keen.
Been a busy weekend, made cake pops, sweet red onion relish, sweet chilli sauce and the skirts and a 10 km fun run! Whew, even I am rather shattered. Losing my baby weight but all off my legs and upper body, but nothing what so ever off my tummy. Not happy at all. Blair keeps telling me it will happen but I am getting a little inpatient!

A little Sleep Suit
It feels strange to be sewing winter things in this heat, but I was trying to get a head start of winter sewing and I saw this fantastic jersey fleece and well, I brought it, brought a pattern and the rest is history!
I used Kwik Sew 3089 and it is so easy! And much like the brought sack that Greta already has. The only thing I did different was I put rib cuffs on the sleeve too. I can never get them to fold over like the pattern. The always sit a bit funny.
It is nice and long so should fit her for the whole of winter. I also have some different fabric to make another one. I think two should be enough. I love this stripe, I brought enough to make Adele a jersey dress. So matchy matchy but shouldn't ever be at the same time.
These fleece is so warm, I need it to get much much colder before she can wear it.
It is so muggy today, not enjoying it at all. But I am grateful for the rain so I guess that is the trade off.

A little something for me
I brought a few metres of this fabric and made a few skirts to sell, I made three, one for me and two to sell. Both went in about an hour! Crazy!!! But pretty cool. It gets a bit repetitive making leggings all the time and gives me a proper excuse to indulge in my favourite past time of buying fabric.
I was worried I might end up missing out but thankfully I was able to make mine up thus morning with what was left. I have a bit left but it is all funny shapes so not sure what to do with it now. Maybe a book bag or something.
Adele's started morning kindy now. Greta usually sleeps in the morning, it's so quiet. I do miss the kids when they aren't around. Means I have more time for sewing (or house work)
